There were a lot of hard-fought battles and a few upsets. The biggest wins were by Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones each with 12-0 victories. Sadly, Madonna did not make it to the second round. The biggest upsets were Michael Jackson over Pearl Jam and Elton John over U2. I think deep down we're all glad that U2 is out of it, despite the fact that we're now stuck with Elton John.Vote in the second round in the comments. Anyone is welcome to vote, even if you didn't vote in the first round.

Also, in the event of a tie between the two bands, the tiebreaker will be which band received more votes from the Money Beets (Ethan, Brian, Me). We only needed to implement this rule between STP and TV on the Radio. Brian and I voted for them so they advanced with a 2-1 win in the tiebreaker.

I officially vote Taylor off of the island.
1) He seeded Radiohead 1st in the 2000s, when all of their major radio hits took place in the 90s...he knew that his precious Radiohead couldn't seed higher than 6 in a true 90s bracket.
2) His man crush on probably the worst #2 seed in the bracket (save for U2, they hold a special place for derision)...TV on the Radio...dude, I listened to their stuff...just awful. #2 seed, huh?
Taylor is obviously the biggest roadblock to our successful journey towards the greatest band ever!

I know I have hurt you deeply, Taylor . I completely appreciate how important and influential Led Zeppelin was. But the number of songs that I actually enjoy listening to is very small (kasmir being my fave). So I decided to go with the band that I have enjoyed and could possibly continue to enjoy in the future. I hope you can learn to respect this decision.
As for not knowing who Arcade Fire is, that's ridiculous. They shouldn't be compared to Granddaddy. Google them and you'll understand how unreasonable it is to not know them.
Two bands in over their heads, Van Morrison and Green Day, need to get ready to be raped next round by Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones, respectively. Pinback vs. Led Zeppelin would have been an interesting match-up.

TV on the Radio is great. Someday you could have enjoyed them, but now that your binary mind has made a decision your life will forever be that much worse off.
But I do agree that Van Morrison advancing past the first round at all is just ridiculous, let alone the fact that it was against Pinback.
